Located right outside the gates of Frontier Village, .  Please stop in, visit a while and allow us to introduce you to the many attractions and opportunities offered in Jamestown, Stutsman County, and the surrounding area.  Free tourist maps available. Open 9 AM to 8 PM Memorial Day to Mid September, 7 days a week.  Winter hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, closed on weekends.

Authentic pioneer town at the end of Louis L'Amour Lane next to the National Buffalo Museum, Tourist Information Center and live buffalo herd.  Concessions, crafts, souvenirs, leather shop.  Buildings open Memorial Day to Labor Day from 9 to 9. After Labor Day to mid-October they are open from 9 to 7. Pony and stage coach rides Memorial Day to Labor Day.  Village admission is free but free-will offering accepted in each building. Small fee for rides.

Kirkpatrick Gallery - Frontier Village, 701-252-6307

The gallery was donated to the Arts Center by artist James A. Kirkpatrick and is operated by a local group of artists called “The Artisans.” Open Memorial Day to Labor Day with artwork for sale by artists from the region.

Louis L'Amour Writer's Shack - Frontier Village, 800-222-4766

Learn more about one of Jamestown's favorite sons. Winner of the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal, with over 360 million books in print including the Sackett series, Crossfire Trail, and Hondo.  Open and staffed Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Frontier Village Amphitheatre - Located on a well-tended grassy slope area with a covered stage at its base. Hosts concerts, plays, church gatherings, community events and weddings. Seating capacity for up to 300, with lawn seating for another 400. Perfect for concerts, festivals, community events, corporate events and more. Equipped with  24 channel audio system and stage lighting. To reserve the amphitheater for a performance or wedding, contact Charlie at 252-7492.

World's Largest Buffalo Monument - Frontier Village

Overlooking the city and hills of central North Dakota, this 26 foot high, 46 toot long, 60 ton concrete monument was dedicated in 1959. Open year-round. Free admission.

Live Buffalo Herd, featuring "White Cloud" - Map
Located next to Frontier Village & National Buffalo Museum. Come and see White Cloud and her calf,
North America's only two albino bison, as they roam in the pasture with their traditional brown buffalo friends.  Located next to the National Buffalo Museum and Frontier Village for all to view.  No charge for viewing.

Located next to the Frontier Village and Live Buffalo Herd. is a non-profit educational organization devoted to the cultural and natural history of bison and the prairie.   Excellent displays featuring the Lewis & Clark Exhibit, Plains Indian Tipi and artifacts as well as history of the bison.  Open year round.  Small entry fee.  Group discounts available.

Located in the National Buffalo Museum.  Large and wonderful assortment of buffalo products, and North Dakota-made items including hand-made pottery, jewelry, stuffed animals, children's costumes, and food.  Open year-round.  No admission charge.

Fort Seward Interpretive Center + Archaeological Dig - Map - 603 10th Ave. NW, 701-251-1875

Established in 1872 to protect the Northern Pacific railroad workers. 20th Infantry historical  reenactment encampment held each September.  Site of Flags Across America.  Open Memorial Day to Labor Day from 10 AM to 6 PM daily.  No admission charge.

One of only 17 designated sites in the nation to display a majestic 30x60  foot American Flag with 18" tall stars. Scenic view with picnic shelters and public restrooms. Located at the historic Ft. Seward.

Situated in the historic Lutz Mansion, an Arts & Crafts-style residence, the museum is home to a wealth of antiques, unique architectural features, and memorabilia celebrating the lifestyle of the area's earliest settlers.  Open Memorial Day to Labor Day.  Free Admission.

 The state's oldest courthouse, constructed in 1883.  Walk by viewing only.

Historic Franklin School - Map - 308 2nd St SW, 701-252-2225
Built in 1909 and used as a primary school until 2000, it has been lovingly restored for use at the CSi Technology Center.  It's most famous student was western writer Louis L'Amour.  Open for tours Monday - Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM or other times by arrangement.  No admission.

The Arts Center features monthly rotating exhibits by artists of local, regional, and national import. Also features theatrical and musical performances. Hosts art classes for all ages. Gallery is open Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm. Free admission.
