Jamestown
Hospital is a 56-bed primary care, acute care and outpatient care
facility and is fully accredited. The hospital serves a nine-county
area with a population of nearly 50,000. Jamestown Hospital is the
largest health care facility for this region of North Dakota.
The hospital
provides full medical services, including a 24-hour emergency medicine
center, outpatient surgery unit, audiology center, speech therapy,
cardiac rehab, podiatry surgery, anesthesia service, medical, surgical,
ICU, maternity, swing-bed and hospice patient beds.
In addition,
it also provides home health care, hospice care, maternal child
health center with birthing rooms/nursery, a kidney dialysis center,
laboratory/pathology, and has a medical library.
The hospital
has health information services, a fully equipped surgery unit,
pharmacy, radiology center, provides mammography screening, physical
therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, hearing services,
respiratory therapy, social service department life-line, senior
support services, care services, has a volunteer program, support
groups, a licensed registered dietitian/nutritional counseling services,
and health education classes open to the community.

Dakota Clinic
offers a wide range of specialty care and brings in Fargo, ND specialists
to better meet patients' needs. Services available include allergy
testing, blood pressure clinic, bone marrow biopsies, chemotherapy,
colposopy, cardiology (consulting specialists), neurology, dermatology,
oncology, otolaryngology, rheumatology, urology, EEG, EKG, Holter
monitoring, Lamaze classes, laser surgery, obstetrics/ gynecology
(OB/GYN), orthopedic surgery, pacemaker follow-up pulmonary function
tests, sigmoidoscopy, stress tests, x-ray and new mammography service.
Its van service
provides transportation to Dakota Clinic or Dakota Heartland Hospital
in Fargo, Monday through Friday. Call ahead to arrange a ride. Since
1990, Dakota Clinic has participated in the Medicare program. The
clinic accepts patients' Medicare assignment plus supplemental insurance
payment as full payment for Medicare-covered services.
Family practice
care, internal medicine and pediatrics are also available.
The clinic
provides access to primary care including extended hours from 5
to 7 p.m. Monday thru Friday and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday mornings.
Orthopedic, OB/GYN, surgeon and Pediatric specialists are also available
full time. The Dakota Clinic network also allows patients to see
specialists available at other clinics when needed.

Health Systems continues growth and expansion in the Jamestown area
with the opening of a medical clinic in January, 1998.
Medcenter One
Jamestown is located in the Jamestown Mall with a large parking
lot and easy access. The regular hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
These hours will be expanded in the near future to include evenings
and weekends.
A wide range
of specialty care physicians are coming to Jamestown to provide
the patients within the clinic and hospital. Their services include:
rheumatology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, general surgery,
otolaryngology (ENT), urology, cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology,

and Hearing Services

Speech pathology
and audiology services have long been available with Speech and
Hearing Services. Speech and language pathologists provide services
in the home, hospital and various therapy settings in the Jamestown
and Valley City areas. The audiology staff conducts hearing tests
on children and adults and carries a full line of hearing aids and
provides hearing aid repairs.
